Governing Board for new Long Service Leave Authority announced

ACT Minister for Industrial Relations, Katy Gallagher MLA, today announced the appointments to the governing board of the new amalgamated Long Service Leave Authority.

The governing board and the new Long Service Leave Authority will commence tomorrow (1 January 2010).
 
“After an extensive search for nominations including from current members of the boards of the Construction and Cleaning Long Service Leave Authorities, from peak employer and employee organisations, and through the ACT’s Community Noticeboard, I am pleased to announce the make up of the new board,” Ms Gallagher said.

“Ms Glenys Roper will be chair, Mr Peter Matthews, deputy chair, and Ms Sarah Schoonwater, Ms Kim Sattler and Mr Peter Middleton will be members.

“I would like to congratulate all those successful nominees and thank all those who sought nomination. I’d also like to express my gratitude to those other outgoing members for their service and dedication to the current boards,” Ms Gallagher said.

“A nominee to the board of the new Authority to represent employers in the community sector has also been sought, and this appointment will coincide with the commencement of the new community sector scheme on 1 July 2010.”
